Joe Spector

Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs

Pronouns: He/Him/His

Joe spent nearly three decades chronicling the biggest political stories in New York and across the nation, covering elections, legislative victories and, yes, even the scandals.

He brings an extraordinarily deep knowledge of the state’s political and media landscape and the ability to tell stories that resonate with a broad audience.

His most recent position was as New York Editor at POLITICO, where he oversaw government and politics coverage in Albany and New York City with a team of more than a dozen reporters.

Previously, Joe was the Atlantic Region Politics Editor for USA TODAY. There, he managed coverage in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.

And before that, he created the New York State Team for Gannett New York, collaborating with reporters and editors at more than a dozen newspapers and websites across the state. Joe was also the Albany Bureau Chief for Gannett and a political reporter in Rochester, N.Y. and Connecticut.

When he’s not scrolling social media complaining about the Mets, Jets and Nets, you can find him on the sidelines of his boys’ many, many sports teams.
