New Survey Shows Affordable Housing, Cost of Living, and Crime Concerns for Tri-State Region Residents
A new Regional Plan Association (RPA) / Global Strategy Group (GSG) survey shows NYC metro region residents support ambitious plans to confront the region’s challenges.
Top-lines include:
- The NY Metro Outlook Index stands at 55.1 out of 100, relatively unchanged since October
- But concerns about crime are rising with crime (48%) and cost of living (46%) being seen as the biggest threats to the region
- 62% of New Yorkers think Mayor Adams’ blueprint on gun crime is the right approach
- 75% of New Yorkers support Mayor Adams and Governor Hochul’s homeless outreach plan
- NYC residents and lower income residents have a more favorable impression of the direction of the region than do residents outside of the city and more affluent residents.
