Jim Pugh

Jim Pugh brings over 15 years of experience building technology and data tools for political and civic organizations, with deep expertise in AI, data pipelines, and experimentation. He is the founder of AI Progress Hub, where he developed production LLM tools for electoral organizations and helped teams integrate AI into research and communications workflows. Previously, Jim held senior analytics and engineering roles on the Obama campaign and at the DNC, leading large-scale experimentation and building systems to support fundraising, targeting, and engagement.

At GSG, Jim focuses on building scalable AI-driven systems and helping teams put them to work with confidence. He holds a BS from Caltech and a PhD in Distributed Robotics from EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland. Outside work, Jim enjoys escape rooms and building educational tech toys for his young kids.
