Beza Assefa
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Beza fell in love with politics for the same reason she fell in love with research: it’s where stories, people, and data intersect. As an Elections Assistant at GSG, she helps conduct qualitative and quantitative research for political and advocacy clients, turning numbers and narratives into insights that drive campaigns during the 2026 election cycle.
Before joining GSG, Beza worked at Dewey Square Group, where she led grassroots research for multi-state public affairs campaigns, studying how policy connects to communities on the ground. At Issue One, she investigated how information travels through our media ecosystem, uncovering the digital networks driving misinformation and shaping public perception. At NoirUnited International, she helped immigrant and diaspora communities access and understand the tools and policies that shape their futures. Together, these experiences reflect her belief that research is most meaningful when it bridges people’s lived experiences with the decisions that affect them.
Beza studied International Relations at Tufts University, focusing on Globalization and Economics, and her perspective on politics is shaped by global roots and local impact.
Outside of work, you can find her thrifting, discovering cozy international cafés around the DMV, hosting dinner parties with friends, or getting lost in creative projects, whether it’s ceramics, dance, or testing new makeup looks on whichever of her friends is willing to sit still for an hour or two.
